The University and the European University Institute (EUI) have signed a new five-year agreement to strengthen collaboration initiatives in the social sciences and humanities. The agreement was signed this morning by the Rector Alessandra Petrucci and the president of the Institute Renaud Dehousse, in the presence of the delegate for international relations and multilateral agreements Giorgia Giovannetti.
The agreement will enable the two universities to work on further exchange opportunities between lecturers, researchers, staff and Master's degree students. In particular, it will enable IUE Master's degree students to undertake curricular internships at Unifi and offer teaching opportunities to the Institute's Doctoral students. In addition, IUE and Unifi will collaborate on the organisation of seminars, conferences, training courses and summer schools for managers, as well as on specific research projects.
Under the agreement, the two universities will provide facilities, research and training laboratories as well as libraries for academic activities. EUI members will be able to take advantage of the services of the University Language Centre.
The agreement will also foster synergy between the two European universities of which the University of Florence and the European University Institute are founding members, EUniWell and CIVICA, respectively.
Finally, special attention will be given to cooperation in the “Africa Young Leadership” programme of the School of Transnational Governance of the EUI, which includes the involvement of DELoS Doctoral students from Unifi.
