Welcome
We warmly invite you to participate in the 9th International Symposium on Carbanion Chemistry (ISCC-9) to be held in Florence from 20 to 24 July, 2010.
The symposium will be held in Italy for the second time after the Gallipoli meeting (1992) and follows the successful series of ISCC symposia held at Durham (1984), Ottawa (1989), Gallipoli (1992), Fort Collins (1995), Sendai (1998), Marburg (2001), Alicante (2004) and Madison (2007).
The aim of ISCC is to cover all the aspects of carbanion chemistry (synthetic, mechanistic, structural and theoretical) and to promote exchange of ideas and collaborations among people. We strongly encourage younger scientists to attend the meeting in order to get in touch and see, first-hand, the state of the art in the field. A number of reduced fee registrations will be available to this purpose.
The symposium programme will feature plenary lectures, short communications, poster sessions, and exhibitions. Established leaders in the field, young and emerging investigators, and leading scientists from industry will share their results with you.
The venue for the symposium will be the Polo delle Scienze Sociali (Social Sciences Pole, Italian site) of the University of Florence, a newly built campus with excellent facilities that make it ideal for conferences. The Polo delle Scienze Sociali is located in the northern part of Florence, in a recently restored area which encompasses the new university, the new tribunal and a park. It is close to the city centre to which it is well connected by local transportations and to the Florence airport.
We do hope that you will join us to continue the scientific excellence that has been the common feature of previous symposia and make the ISCC-9 a memorable event.
