CERM represents Italy within the research consortium

Lucia Banci

The European Commission adopted the decision to award Instruct, an European research infrastructure in structural biology, the official ERIC status.

The CERM/CIRMMP Research Infrastructure of the University of Florence is the Italian Instruct Centre.

Instruct, that became operational in 2012, provides high-end technologies and methods available to users in the field of protein sample preparation, biophysical characterization, X-ray crystallography, nuclear magnetic resonance imaging, cryo-EM and mass spectrometry. The Italian participation at Instruct is being financially supported by MIUR, with director of CERM Lucia Banci (in the picture) as coordinator.

Banci attended the ceremony held on 18th July at the Royal Society in London. Italy is one of the founding members of Instruct and has also participated as a founding member in the establishment of Instruct as Instruct-ERIC.
