A day with ancientDNA - 22th March 2012

Thanks to the advent of the new massively parallel sequencing technologies, the ancient DNA field, almost 30 years-old, is now moving from paleogenetics to paleogenomics; that is, the study of structure and function of ancient genomes. We are now in a crucial scientific moment in which some of the historical limitations of the field, such as the modern contamination, can be monitorized or filtered, while new challenges are emerging. We will talk about the fascinating new possibilities of a field that has yet to reach its limits.
