Requirements

Applications for admission to the PhD programme can be submitted by candidates holding a recognised Master degree, i.e. a degree delivered at the end of a five-year (or more) university programme (which means that Italian applicants are required to have either a Diploma di Laurea specialistica/magistrale or a Diploma di Laurea vecchio ordinamento).

Given the nature of the PhD programme, candidates should have a good knowledge (undergraduate or higher) of microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, development economics and economic policy as well. A good knowledge of basic statistic and econometric techniques may be a plus.

Finally, successful candidates should have a good knowledge of current affairs and be aware of the political and intellectual debates concerning the main development issues.
