Admission exam

The admission exam consists of a written test and an oral interview for selected candidates.

The written test, which is usually four hours long, is made up of different questions concerning issues related to development economics, international economics, developing countries' characteristics, policies and institutions.

The successful candidates in the written test will also attend an oral examination during which they will be asked questions regarding development economics and their own personal background and motivations as well.

For the academic year 2011-2012, at least 4 positions with fellowship and 4 positions without fellowship will be made available in the broader context of the PhD in Economics. Additional foreign students who pass the entrance exam can be enrolled in the PhD course if they hold a scholarship provided by external institutions.
