Third year

The admission to the third year is decided by the Board of lecturers of the PhD programme.

During the third year the PhD student has to earn 60 credits, and for that reason he/she has to:

1.     Carry out, if necessary, a fieldwork research in a developing country related to the PhD thesis.

2.    Draft the PhD thesis, which has to be submitted and presented to the board of lecturers by October (i.e. two months before the end of the PhD programme). Finalise and submit the dissertation in its final form to the PhD programme Director and the PhD programme Secretariat by the end of the third year (50 credits). Extensions to this deadline can be granted for valid reasons only.

3.    Support the activities of the PhD programme and assist in the different courses of the Department of Economics at Florence University (10 credits).
