From refuse to resource: cultivating on reclaimed harbour sediments

A project coordinated by the Department of Agrifood Production and Environmental Sciences

The project, now in its final stages, has studied the possibility of growing vegetables on reclaimed sediments coming from the port of Livorno.

A challenge that starts from the observation of some facts, as explained by Edgardo Giordani, coordinator of the LIFE project "Hortised" funded within the European programme of the same name.
