The first online platform able to predict throughout the European territory the heat risk for workers in five productive sectors, personalizing the indications based on the physical characteristics of the worker, the clothing worn, the intensity of the effort and the sun exposure.
This is the outcome of Heat-Shield (“Integrated inter-sector framework to increase the thermal resilience of European workers in the context of global warming”), a European project of the Horizon 2020 program, with a Danish leadership, and the participation of 20 research centers and international businesses, to which the University of Florence participates with the Department of Agrifood Production and Environmental Sciences (DISPAA) and the Center for Bioclimatology (Cibic).
