In recent years, research evaluation has become a strategic and increasingly important tool for measuring the quality of universities, proportionally affecting the distribution of resources and the allocation of staff points by the Ministry.
The Ministry of Education, University and Research has entrusted ANVUR (Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of the Universities and Research Institutes) the task of assessment, based on the Guidelines for the Evaluation of Research (DM June 27th 2015 n. 458).
With Rector's Decree n. 449/2016, the University Research Ethics Commission was set up to provide opinions on research ethics and integrity, as defined at a supranational level by documents such as The European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity. The Commission evaluates, from an ethical standpoint, studies that do not include clinical trials, governed by specific legislation, or that are not, in any case, the responsibility of the regional ethical committee for clinical trials.
The Commission is a representative body of the five Areas of the Departments and is composed as follows:
Biomedical area: Prof. Gian Aristide Norelli - President
Scientific area: Prof. Michela Baccini - Vice President
Technology area: Prof. Marco Pierini - Member
Humanities area: Prof. Giuliana Pinto - Member
Social Sciences area: Prof. Ilaria Pagni - Member
