The industrial PhD programme is regulated by art. 11 of the D.M. n. 45 of 08/02/2013; it is aimed at employees of enterprises or external entities engaged in highly qualified work and research activities (who hold a post-graduate degree or equivalent title), and which – while keeping their paycheque and employee status – can train and develop research and obtain the title of PhD at the end of the programme.
The industrial pathway takes on a key role in strengthening University-Business relations and represents a fundamental resource for companies for the acquisition of highly skilled human resources and the increase of their competitiveness.

Pursuant to art. 45 of D.L. 81/2015 and of Law n. 240/2010 and with the modalities provided by the regional legislation on the subject, doctoral positions in internships can be activated within companies, external private and public bodies which conduct research and higher education activities.
The admission of candidates to the course is bound to submitting the application for participation in the competition as well as the passing of the selection
Companies and entities external to the University, including public bodies, can finance three-year scholarships through the stipulation of dedicated agreements. The scholarships can be aimed at carrying out specific research topics. The position offered following the funding are included in the competition’s Call for Applications and assigned to the eligible candidates included in the final ranking.
Companies and entities that intend to finance a doctoral scholarship must ensure full availability of the three-year amount, the budget for research activities required by law (minimum amount of € 3,068.66) and the extra funds necessary for the stay abroad. The amount thus determined is included in the agreement and guaranteed by the stipulation of a guarantee policy.
