Legenda
Rita Traversi got a degree in Chemistry at the University of Florence in 1995. In 2000 she obtained the PhD in Environmental Sciences at the same University. Since 1996 she has taken part in PNRA research activity. Since then, she has been working on the development of analytical methods (Ion Chromatography, Flow Injection Analysis, Atomic Absorption and Emission techniques) for the measurements of environmentally relevant species in different matrices (snow and ice, atmospheric aerosol, rain, marine sediments, sea water, mainly from polar areas). In 2002 she got a permanent position as researcher in Analytical Chemistry at University of Florence and since 2018 as professor of Analytical Chemistry. Her research work has proceeded with the study of atmospheric composition and chemical stratigraphies from Antarctic snow and ice aiming to achieve information on current and past climatic variations at different time scales (last decades - 1 Myr) in the framework of national and international projects (PNRA, ITASE, EPICA, TALDICE, ANDRILL, HOLOCLIP). Her scientific activity is documented by more than 100 scientific publications on national and international journals with about 850 citations (H-index 26).
