Giacomo Innocenti si è laureato nel 2004 in Ingegneria Informatica presso l'Università degli Studi di Firenze, dove ha conseguito anche il titolo di Dottore in Ricerca in Dinamiche Non Lineari e Sistemi Complessi nel 2008.
Dal 2008 al 2012 ha continuato la sua attività di ricerca sia presso il Dipartimento di Sistemi e Informatica dell'Università degli Studi di Firenze, che presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione dell'Università degli Studi di Siena.
Dal 2013 afferisce al Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione dell'Università degli Studi di Firenze come Ricercatore Universitario per il Settore Scientifico Disciplinare ING-INF/04 - Automatica.

Giacomo Innocenti received the Master’s degree in Information Engineering and the PhD in Nonlinear Dynamics and Complex Systems from the University of Florence (UNIFI), Italy, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. Then, he was Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Siena, Italy, and Assistant Professor at UNIFI, where he currently is Associate Professor in Automation at the Department of Information Engineering (DINFO). He is also the scientific supervisor of the Cyber-Physical Systems Laboratory of DINFO. He is member of the Conference Editorial Board of the IEEE Control Systems Society since 2020, and he serves as academic and associate editor for three scientific journals in the field of complex systems. His main research interest is in nonlinear dynamics with special regard for the analysis and control of nonlinear systems, and the possible applications of bifurcation theory and chaos.
