Il Prof. Coco riceve il martedì dalle 14.30 alle 17.30 e su prenotazione via mail (giuseppe.coco@unifi.it), nella stanza 3.29 dell'edificio D5 nel periodo di insegnamento. La prenotazione è assolutamente necessaria entro il giorno prima in particolare fuori dal periodo di insegnamento. E' possibile comunque chiedere appuntamenti via mail per altre date/ore.
Giuseppe Coco è professore di Economia Politica presso la Scuola 'Cesare Alfieri' di Firenze, Senior Advisor del Fondo Italia Ventures II, Membro del Comitato Scientifico della Scuola di Alta Formazione della Corte dei Conti e membro fondatore della fondazione ASTRID. E' stato Coordinatore del Consiglio degli esperti del Ministro della Coesione Territoriale e il Mezzogiorno e Consigliere Economico del Vice Primo Ministro. E' stato Presidente del Consiglio di Laurea in Relazioni Internazionali della 'Cesare Alfieri', Professore Associato e Direttore del Programma di Dottorato in Economia all'Università di Bari, Visiting Research Fellow presso City University, London, Membro dell'Unità per la Semplificazione della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri (2003-2009), Dirigente presso la Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri (99-02), e Lecturer in Economics presso l'Università di Exeter (UK). E' anche stato membro del Nucleo di verifica degli investimenti del MISE, consulente per il CIPE-Nars, la Scuola Superiore di Pubblica Amministrazione e il FORMEZ. Ha pubblicato, tra gli altri, lavori sulla European Economic Review, il Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, il Journal of Banking and Finance e Small Business Economics. I suoi interessi sono nel campo della teoria microeconomica applicata ai settori del credito (e finanza in generale), regolazione, servizi di pubblica utilità, diseguaglianza e povertà.

Giuseppe Coco is currently a Professor in Economics at the University of Florence and Senior Advisor of the Italia Venture Fund. He has been Coordinator of the council of economic advisors to the Minister for territorial cohesion and Mezzogiorno and Economic Adviser to the Vice-Prime Minister. He is also a founding member of the Foundation ‘ASTRID’, in Rome. Previously he has held the positions of Associate Professor at the University of Bari, Member of the Unit for Evalutation and Monitoring of Investments at the Ministry for Economic Development of the Italian Government, member of the Simplification Unit in the Prime Minister Office (2004-2010), Senior Economist in the Prime Minister Office in Italy (99-02), Lecturer in Economics at the University of Exeter, UK (97-99), and Visiting Resarch Fellow at City University, London,(2009-2011). He has been a consultant for CIPE, within the Italian Treasury (03-04), the Scuola Superiore di Pubblica Amministrazione (2002-) and Formez (2001-). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Exeter, a Dottorato di Ricerca in Economia at the University of Napoli Federico II, and two Masters in Economics (Coripe-University of Torino and University of York, UK). His research work has been also published in the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, the European Economic Review, Small Business Economics, the Journal of Economic Surveys, Economic Modelling, Research in Economics, Utilities Policy and, in Italy, in the Rivista di Diritto Finanziario e Scienza delle Finanze and Economia Pubblica. His main expertises are in the areas of regulation, particularly in the field of administrative burdens of regulation utilities and infrastructure policies and regulation, local public services, regulatory reform, and in the microeconomics of asymmetric information, in particular with applications to the credit market, education, equity.

He has covered the roles of economic advisor to the Minister for territorial cohesion and the Vice-Prime Minister. He was also an associate in Cerpem, a research company in Bari, a founding member of the ASTRID Foundation in Rome and a member of a Technical Commitee at the Ministry for Economic Development. Previously he has been an Associate Professor and the Director of the Phd. program in Economics at the Department of Economic Science- University of Bari, Visiting Research Fellow at City University, London (2009-11), Member of the Simplification Unit in the Prime Minister Office (2004-2010), Senior Economist in the Prime Minister Office in Italy (99-02), Lecturer in Economics at the University of Exeter, UK (1997-99). He has also consulted for CIPE, within the Italian Treasury (2003-04), the Scuola Superiore di Pubblica Amministrazione (2002-09) and Formez (2001-2009).
