Marco Uzielli è Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato (RTD-B) presso il DICeA. E' titolare del corso di Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering nell'ambito del Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Geoengineering e del corso di Geotecnica Ambientale e Miglioramento dei Terreni nell'ambito del Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria per la Tutela dell'Ambiente e del Territorio.
È inoltre Socio Fondatore e Direttore Scientifico di Georisk Engineering S.r.l., Società avente la qualifica di spin-off accademico dell'Università degli Studi di Firenze e svolgente attività internazionalmente in ambito professionale e di ricerca nei settori dell'ingegneria geotecnica e della gestione dei rischi da eventi naturali e dal cambiamento climatico.
È stato “visiting lecturer” presso numerose istituzioni accademiche. Mantiene numerose collaborazioni attive di ricerca in ambito nazionale ed internazionale.
È membro dei Technical Committee TC304 “Engineering Practice of Risk Assessment and Management” e TC309 "Machine learning" della International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.

Marco Uzielli is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Florence. He holds the undergraduate courses “Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering” in the second-cycle degree course in Geoengineering and “Environmental Geotechnics and Soil Improvement” in the second-cycle degree course in Environmental Engineering. He also holds the post-graduate course “Risk analysis for natural hazards” in the International Doctorate in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Marco was the Founder and is currently the Scientific Director of Georisk Engineering S.r.l., an engineering consultancy firm and academic spin-off of the University of Florence operating internationally in commercial and research projects on the topics of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering and disaster risk management for natural and climate change-related hazards.
He is a specialist consultant for the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) and the Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems at the University of Western Australia, Perth.
Marco has been a Visiting Lecturer at numerous institutions and maintains active collaborations with commercial and research partners worldwide.
Marco serves in Technical Committees TC304 “Engineering Practice of Risk Assessment and Management” and TC309 "Machine Learning" of the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE).
