Biografia
Coordina una Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) "High resolution tools to understand the functional role of protein intrinsic disorder" (IDPbyNMR, 8 partner, 3.4 M, data di inizio 01/11/2012, durata 4 years). E' stata invitata a molti convegni internazionali come speaker (alcuni esempi recenti includono ICMRBS 2012, ISMAR 2013, EUROMAR 2013).

Isabella Caterina FELLI
Biography
Isabella C. Felli graduated with a degree in Chemistry in 1994 and obtained the PhD in Chemistry in 1998 at the University of Florence (Italy) under the supervision of Prof. Ivano Bertini. She joined the group of Prof. Geoffrey Bodenhausen as visiting student at the NHMFL in Tallahassee. She received an Alexander von Humbold fellowship for a post-doctoral position in Frankfurt with Prof. Christian Griesinger. She also received several other grants (including Marie Curie, DAAD, EMBO) as well as awards during this period (prize by Federchimica for her undergraduate thesis, prize by the Italian Chemical Society for her PhD work). She then returned to Florence in the group of Prof. Ivano Bertini. Since 2005 she is associate professor (CHIM/03) at the University of Florence. She is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Doctorate in Chemistry (Faculty of Science) and of the International Doctorate in Structural Biology (Faculty of Science). She has been involved since 2006, as a local operator, in several EC supported projects to provide access to NMR research infrastructures (EUNMR, EASTNMR, BioNMR). She is coordinating an EC Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) "High resolution tools to understand the functional role of protein intrinsic disorder" (IDPbyNMR, 8 partners, 3.4 M, starting date 001/11/2012, duration: 4 years). She has been invited to many international meetings as a speaker (some recent examples include the ICMRBS 2012, ISMAR 2013, EUROMAR 2013). Her main research interest consists in the application and development of NMR methods to study metalloproteins, macromolecules of biological interest and their interactions with metal ions. She is author of 80 publications in international journals.

Research interests
Development of new methods based on NMR spectroscopy for the study of metalloproteins, of macromolecules of biological interest and of their interactions with metal ions.
The main results include: 1) the determination of the first solution structure of a paramagnetic metalloprotein through NMR (undergraduate thesis), followed by several other examples and by the development of the relative methodology, 2) development of new NMR methods for the determination of local mobility, 3) development of new NMR methods based on 13C direct detection for the study of proteins, 4) development of new solid state NMR methods, 5) development of new NMR methods for the study of intrinsically disordered proteins (IDP).
The scientific results, described in 80 publications (plus two just submitted forpublication), have been presented at many international meetings (32 oral presentations, 41 poster presentations).
