Mobility: public transport for Unifi students

For the a.y. 2025/2026, Unifi students will once again be able to take advantage of local public transport (TPL) discounted passes. Depending on ISEEU (indicator of economic situation for university study), i is possible to subscribe a 10-month pass for 50 or 65 euros.

For the first time, the initiative also involves Unifi PhD students and AFAM institutes (Academy of Fine Arts, ISIA, Luigi Cherubini Conservatory of Music).

The agreement has been renewed thanks to the collaboration among the University of Florence, Regione Toscana, the Municipality of Florence, Diritto allo Studio Universitario (DSU), Autolinee Toscane and, as a new partner, the AFAM institutes.

The initiative is supported by total funding of 2,358,000 euros, approximately 18% more than last year: the University of Florence is contributing with 510,000 euros, the Municipality of Florence 643,000 euros, and Regione Toscana 1,179,000 euros; 643,000 euroso through the Department of Mobility and Transport and 536,000 euros through the DSU according to the recommendation of the Department of Education. Finally, the funding for the AFAM institutes amounts to approximately 25,000 euros.

Interested students will be able to activate subscription starting on 21 September, valid from 1 October until 31 July 2026. The discount will apply to local public transport services in the Florence metropolitan area: buses, trams and trains within the municipal territory of Florence.

Specifically, the discounted local public transport (TPL) pass can be activated by students regularly enroled in the 2025/2026 academic year in First, Single and Second cycle degree programmes, as well as by PhD students.

To take advantage of this discount, interested students must register on the Autolinee Toscane website (shop.at-bus.it): as a “Student” or “ISEE Student”, filling in the “name of institution” field with the word “UNIFI” (AND FOR AFAM); for those over 26, registration as “ordinary” or “ISEE” is required.
