Resolution of the Academic Senate for Enhanced Monitoring The Academic Senate of the University of Florence has approved a resolution providing for enhanced monitoring of scientific and academic cooperation agreements with higher education institutions located in territories affected by the recent conflicts in the Middle East.The measure stipulates that activities envisaged under agreements for which critical issues have been identified shall be suspended pending the assessments of the competent University bodies. In line with the values enshrined in the Italian Constitution, the University Statute, and the Code of Ethics and Conduct, the University of Florence reaffirms its commitment to international scientific dialogue and, through the ‘Paths of Peace’ initiative, continues its efforts in welcoming and supporting academic communities impacted by the conflicts.“Universities have a responsibility to keep channels of dialogue and knowledge open,” stated rector Alessandra Petrucci, “but always within the framework of the values of peace, justice, and respect for human life.
