University professors (professori ordinari e associati) are academic teaching staff with permanent contracts, recruited through a public competition, who carry out research and teaching activities in the academic sector. 

They study and teach the subjects in which they are specialised, participate in research projects and share the results with the scientific community. They produce research papers, essays and academic articles. They carry out teaching activities both in class and e-learning modes and support students at all levels of their academic careers, within their field of expertise. They also supervise theses at all academic levels.

The legal publication of University documents, for the effectiveness of which a form of publicity of legal and evidential relevance is required, is guaranteed through the Official Register.
