Access to first cycle and single cycle degree programmes The final qualification of secondary studies, in original or in certified copy, legalized or provided with apostille, must be accompanied by an official translation in Italian (all documents written in English, French and Spanish do not need to be translated in Italian) and a "declaration of value" (dichiarazione di valore in loco) by the Italian diplomatic or consular representation of the country in which the document was released. The declaration of value must show that the qualification was obtained at the end of a schooling period of at least 12 years and that, in the country in which it was obtained, gives access to the University to an academic programme similar to the one chosen, specifying passing any academic qualification test, if provided for access to the university of the country of origin.In the event that the student has obtained the qualification at the end of an overall schooling period of less than 12 years, they must also present an academic certification that certifies passing the university exams:of the first year in case of 11 years of schooling;of the first two years in case of 10 years of schooling.The academic certification of the exams taken can be replaced by a post-secondary qualification obtained in a non-university higher education institution abroad, duly validated by the diplomatic representation as described above.All documents written in English, French and Spanish do not need to be translated in Italian.There are special provisions for some foreign titles. Certificates of comparability and authenticity issued by CIMEA The students who are unable to produce the "declaration of value" (dichiarazione di valore in loco) of their qualification can apply to the Centro Informazioni Mobilità Equivalenze Accademiche - CIMEA (Mobility Academic Equivalences Information Centre) to obtain both the certificate of comparability and the certificate of authenticity of the title. In the latter case, the student must still deliver the original or certified copy of the qualification.The CIMEA Diplome certification services will not be available from July 22 to September 8, 2024, and from December 2, 2024, to February 2, 2025, inclusive. Legalization is replaced by the apostille for diplomas awarded in countries that have signed the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 on the abolition of the legalization of foreign public acts.
