Local Public Transportation

Students and PhD students regularly enroled in the 2025/2026 academic year will therefore be able to purchase a season ticket (a season ticket entitles the holder to travel on local public transport in the Florence metropolitan area: buses, trams and trains within the municipal territory of Florence) as follows:

• € 50.00 for those who have an ISEE for the right to university education (ISEEU) less than or equal to € 36,151.98
• € 65.00 for those who do not have an ISEE for the right to university education (ISEEU) or who have an ISEEU higher than € 36,151.98.

The benefit will be valid from 1 October 2025 until 31 July 2026.

Be regularly enroled in the 2025/2026 academic year for at least 7 days.

Students/PhD students under 26 years of age

For students/PhD students who have not yet reached the age of 26, it is necessary to have a subsidized profile registered on the shop.at-bus.it website:

• Student for those who do not have an ISEE for the right to university education (ISEEU) or who have an ISEEU higher than 36,151.98
• ISEE student for those who have an ISEE for the right to university education (ISEEU) less than or equal to € 36,151.98

How to register:

• Pay the first instalment of your university fees and wait 10 days before registering your profile.
• Go to shop.at-bus.it
• Select the "ordinary" profile
• Once it has been approved (with receipt of emails from AT), proceed to request the subsidized profile: Students or ISEE Students based on your status
• Indicate in the "Institute" field: "UNIFI" or "University of Florence

Students/PhD students aged 26 and over

For students/PhD students aged 26 and over, a registered profile on shop.at-bus.it is required:

• Ordinary for those who do not have an ISEE for the right to university study (ISEEU) or who have an ISEEU greater than 36,151.98
• Ordinary ISEE for those who have an ISEE for the right to university study (ISEEU) less than or equal to €36,151.98

The season ticket will be valid from 1 October 2025 until 31 July 2026.

The season ticket can be purchased from 21 September until 30 November 2025, subject to availability.

Students/PhD students who have registered on Autolinee Toscane's shop.at-bus.it (AT) as above will be able to find the season ticket in the ‘Firenze Urbano’ category. Depending on their profile and the data transmitted by the University, one of the titles will be presented:

• UNIFI and AFAM Convention 25/26 Basic (65 euros)
• UNIFI and AFAM Convention 25/26 Reduced (50 euros)

It is necessary to update one's residence, if changed, on the Student Career Management portal to facilitate data management between UNIFI and the Autolinee Toscane portal.

Controls

For on-board checks, students must present the codice fiscale card (tax code, health card or CIE).

Who are the students/PhD students regularly enroled in the academic year?

Students and PhD students who have paid the university fees to renew or complete their enrolment for the 2025/2026 academic year are considered regularly enroled.
Students who plan to graduate by April 2026 and therefore do not intend to renew their enrolment for the 2025/2026 academic year will not be eligible for the subsidy.

Are researchers, research fellows, incoming Erasmus students, "Semestre filtro" for Medicine and Dentistry, or students enroled in postgraduate programmes—such as Master's courses, Specialisation schools,  or other similar courses—eligible for the transport discount?

No, the discount is reserved for students enroled in First and Single (Bachelor's) degree programmes, or Second (Master's) degree programmes.

I am a student or PhD student residing in Tuscany. What should I do to receive the discount?

• If you are under 26 years, register on the shop.at-bus.it portal and apply for the "Student" discount or the "ISEE Student" discount (only if your ISEE is below 36,151.98 euro).
• If you are over 26 years, register your profile on the shop.at-bus.it portal and apply for the "Student" discount (only if your ISEE is below 36,151.98 euro). You do not need to apply for the “student” discount.

I am a student or PhD student not residing in Tuscany.  What do I need to do to receive the discount?

• If you are under 26 years, register on the shop.at-bus.it portal and apply for the "Student" discount. You do not need to apply for the "ISEE Student" discount—the system will automatically recognize your tax code and display the appropriate fare for your profile.
• If you are over 26 years, register your profile on the shop.at-bus.it portal. You do not need to apply for any discount (neither the "Student" nor the "ISEE Student" discount); the system will automatically recognize your tax code and display the correct fare based on your profile.

Do I need to create a new profile on the Autolinee Toscane (AT) portal to get a subscription for the 2025/2026 academic year, even if I'm already registered?

• The Ordinario-standard profile on the Autolinee Toscane website remains valid.
• The Student or ISEE Student profile expires every year in August and must be renewed.
• The ISEE profile normally expires on 31 December of each year, unless its validity is extended by the Tuscany Region. Therefore, if you have an ISEE profile that is valid for the current year, you do not need to renew it; otherwise, you must submit a request.

What does "Ordinario - Standard" profile mean on the AT shop?

The "Ordinario - Standard" profile is obtained upon registration and is the default profile, without any special benefits.

How can students residing abroad, whether Italian or foreign, obtain the ISEE for the right to university education (ISEEU)?

Instructions are given on the page of the Unifi website dedicated to ISEE.

I am a student or PhD student over 26 years old without an ISEEU or ISEE certificate. Am I eligible for the reduced fare?

Yes, you are entitled to the reduced fare of 65.00 euros.

I am over 26 years, do I need to apply for the “student” discount on the AT shop

No, in order to purchase the discounted fare, if you are over 26 years, you must have an “Ordinario-Standard” profile or an “ISEE” profile on AT (if you meet the requirements set out in regional law for the ISEE public transport pass). TPL ISEE 

I am under 26 years, do I need to apply for the “Student” discount on the AT shop?

Yes, to access the discounted fare, you must apply for the "Student" profile on the AT shop.

• If you are a resident of Tuscany and meet the requirements set by regional law for the TPL ISEE fare, you must first request the TPL ISEE voucher on the Tuscany Region website, and then apply for the "ISEE Student" discount on the AT shop.
• If you are not a resident of Tuscany but have submitted an ISEEU of €36,151.98 or less to Unifi, you only need to apply for the "Student" discount on the AT shop.

I have an ISEEU less than or equal to € 36,151.98 and I am a resident of Tuscany, what should I do on the AT shop?

You must apply for the "ISEE" benefit if you have already turned 26 or "ISEE Student" if you are under 26.

I have an ISEEU less than or equal to € 36,151.98 and I am NOT a resident of Tuscany; do I have to apply for the "ISEE" benefit if I have already turned 26 or "ISEE Student" if I am under 26?

It is sufficient to have an "Ordinario - Standard" profile on the AT shop if you have already reached the age of 26 or to have also applied for the "Student" benefit if you are under 26

The "Ordinario - Standard" profile is the default profile created when you register on the AT shop. It does not include any discounts or concessions.

My ISEEU is less than or equal to €36,151.98 and I am a resident of Tuscany. What should I do on the AT shop?

You must apply for the ‘ISEE’ subsidy if you are over 26 years, or the ‘ISEE Student’ subsidy if you are under 26.

My ISEEU is less than or equal to €36,151.98 and I am NOT a resident of Tuscany; should I apply for the “ISEE” subsidy if I am oer 26 years or “ISEE Student” if I am under 26?

No. It is sufficient to have an “Ordinario-Standard” profile on the AT shop if you are already 26 years old or to have also applied for the “Student” subsidy if you are under 26.

How can I obtain the 50 euros season ticket for students/PhD students with an ISEEU of 36,151.98 euros or less?

If you are a resident of Tuscany, before purchasing the discounted ticket in the AT online shop, you must request the “ISEE” discount if you are over 26 years or the “Studente ISEE” discount if you are under 26 years. To obtain the “ISEE” or “Studente ISEE” discount, you must request the TPL ISEE coupon, which is granted if you meet the requirements set out in regional law. Approval of the discount will take place within the time frame specified on the AT portal. You can then proceed with your purchase. If, on the other hand, you are NOT a resident of Tuscany, then all you need is an “Ordinary” profile on the AT shop if you are over 26 years, or a “Student” profile if you are under 26 years.

If I am not a resident of Tuscany, can I obtain the pass at the cost of €50 for students with an ISEEU of less than or equal to €36,151.98?

Yes, you just need to have an “ordinary” profile (if you are over 26) or a “student” profile (if you are under 26) on the AT website.
