Research contracts, Art. 22, and Post-doctoral assignments, Art. 22-bis (Law 240/2010) Universities, public research bodies and institutions whose advanced scientific diploma has been recognised as equivalent to a Ph.D. (in accordance with article 74, paragraph 4, of Italian Presidential Decree No. 382 of 11 July 1980), may enter into fixed-term employment contracts, known as “research contracts” (contratti di ricerca), for the sole purpose of carrying out specific research projects. These contracts are financed in whole or in part by internal funds or by third parties, both public and private, on the basis of specific agreements or conventions.
