Preliminar test about lithology and Geological mapping, following oral exam

Origin and composition of the solar system. Geological framework of the Earth. Classification and origin of the rocks. Magmatic, sedimentary and metamorphic processes. Stratigraphy. Structural Geology and Tectonics (deformation of the rocks, faulting, folding, orogenic belts, Continental Drift and Plate Tectonics). Marine Geology. Geophysics (seismology, gravimetry, magnetism, heat flow and geothermics). Geological outline of the Northern Apennines Chain.
Practice: recognition of rocks, interpretation of geological maps and drawing of geological cross-sections, outlines of geological survey.
