Since the Open Access (OA) movement originated in the academic world to promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge and was only later defined by legislative acts, the set of rules defining the legal framework for OA is varied.

Moreover, in the context of research projects and their funding, OA is becoming an inescapable requirement.
