EUniWell Unifi students experiment with international training models

Educational experience in Cologne on sustainability and inclusion
As part of the opportunities offered by the EUniWell university alliance, the University of Florence is experimenting with training models for future teachers from an international perspective, aiming to define a possible European curriculum that considers current challenges related to sustainability, well-being and inclusion.

The first pilot experience of the Teacher Education Arena (TEA) of EUniWell - of which Unifi is the lead partner - was held on 13-17 March in Cologne, Germany, with the participation of a Florentine delegation of female students and doctoral candidates accompanied by faculty members Giovanna Del Gobbo, Daniela Frison and Francesco De Maria.

For one week, activities were carried out together with colleagues from the Universities of Linnaeus (Sweden), Semmelweis (Hungary) and Nantes (France) at the Ecological Rhine Station and Science Lab of the University of Cologne, a floating science laboratory anchored along the banks of the Rhine River, dedicated to educational activities for future teachers in STEM fields, where participants were able to carry out science experiments aimed explicitly at students with special educational needs.

The next training event, the "Futures thinking workshop," will be held in Florence from 17 to 21 April and will be dedicated to sustainability issues in conjunction with the Green Week proposed by Unifi. The last week of Teacher Education Arena training will be organized by the University of Murcia on 22-26 May and titled "Know yourself, know your future."
