The University of Florence bases its institutional identity upon the principles set forth in its Statute and Code of Ethics, actively promoting the fundamental values of legality, solidarity, and the rejection of all forms of discrimination.

Unifi pursues excellence in higher education and the global exchange of knowledge through the exercise of academic freedom and the implementation of innovative pedagogical methodologies.

A key strategic objective of the University is the provision of infrastructure conducive to teaching, research, third mission activities, and administrative services. The construction of new facilities and the redevelopment of existing spaces—scheduled between 2026 and 2029 across various campuses from Florence to Pistoia—are designed to enhance the well-being of the entire academic community, including students, faculty, and technical-administrative staff.
