Blended learning

Blended learning is a teaching mode that combines in-person and online activities, integrating classroom lectures, digital content, practical exercises, multimedia materials and distance learning.

At the University of Florence, these initiatives were launched as part of the B-LeAF project (Blended Learning University of Florence), created to pilot innovative and flexible teaching methods across degree programmes. To date, 12 degree programmes are offered in blended mode.

Blended activities may include:

  • in-person lectures integrated with online activities;
  • learning materials available on digital platforms;
  • video lectures and multimedia content;
  • online practical exercises and collaborative activities;
  • synchronous and asynchronous learning sessions.

This mode allows you to:

  • enjoy greater flexibility in your studies;
  • enhance learning autonomy and continuity;
  • benefit from innovative teaching methodologies;
  • improve accessibility to educational content.

Activities and tools may vary depending on the degree programme and specific course units or modules.
