The evaluation of research and knowledge enhancement has become an increasingly significant strategic tool for measuring university quality, directly impacting the allocation of resources and staffing points by the Ministry. Evaluation is entrusted to the National agency for the evaluation of universities and research (ANVUR), based on Research Assessment Guidelines established by ministerial decree from the MUR (Ministry of University and Research), along with case studies evaluating knowledge enhancement.As part of its internal self-assessment and monitoring procedures, the University of Florence submits annual reports on its research and knowledge enhancement activities.
