Courses in International Language and Culture

At the University of Florence, you can study foreign languages, improve your language skills, and take part in activities dedicated to cultural exchange and internationalisation.

The University Language Centre (CLA) organises foreign language and Italian L2 courses, as well as the language proficiency tests required by many degree programmes. You can take part in: 

• language courses;
• seminars and practice sessions;
• conversation groups;
• language exchange (tandem) sessions;
• advisory services and language study support. 

These activities are designed to help you develop the language skills needed for your academic path and international mobility experiences.

The Confucius Institute of Florence promotes the study of Chinese language and culture through courses, cultural activities, events, and initiatives open to the university community and the local area. 

Established through a partnership between the University of Florence and Tongji University in Shanghai, it is based at the FORLILPSI Department.

The Centro di servizi culturali per stranieri (Cultural Centre for Foreigners) organises activities and services dedicated to international students, scholars, and guests interested in deepening their knowledge of Italian language and culture.

The Centre’s initiatives support the University's study, research, and cultural exchange pathways.
