Local Public Transportation

Students and PhD students regularly enroled in the 2026/2027 academic year will have the opportunity to purchase a subscription that will allow them to travel on local public transport (TPL) in the metropolitan area of Florence, including:

• the tramway
• urban buses serving the municipalities of Bagno a Ripoli, Calenzano, Campi Bisenzio, Fiesole, Florence, Greve in Chianti, Impruneta, Lastra a Signa, Montelupo Fiorentino, Scandicci, Sesto Fiorentino, Signa, and Vaglia
• suburban buses within the Florence metropolitan area (limited to overlapping routes)
• regional trains at the stations of Firenze SMN, Firenze Rifredi, Firenze Statuto, Firenze Campo Marte, Le Piagge, Le Cure, Firenze Rovezzano, Firenze Castello, Firenze San Marco Vecchio.

Subscriptions will be available at the following rates, depending on the ISEE for university study rights (ISEEU):

• 50.00 euros for those with an ISEE less than or equal to 36,151.98 euros
• 65.00 euros for those without an ISEE or with an ISEE greater than 36,151.98 euros

The benefit will be valid from 1 October 2026 to 31 July, 2027.

Be regularly enroled in the 2026/2027 academic year for at least 7 days.

The following categories are not eligible for the benefit:

• research fellows and researchers;
• students enrolled in first- and second-level Master's courses;
• students enrolled in Specialisation schools;
• students enrolled in professional development, continuing professional development and Specialisation for support activities courses;
• students enrolled in teacher training and qualification programmes worth 30, 36 or 60 ECTS/CFU;
• students enrolled in single courses;
• incoming Erasmus students.

To register on the website at-bus.it/shop.it, follow the instructions below. Remember to select your profile based on your age, place of residence and your university ISEE (threshold: €36,151.98).

Note: Profiles marked ‘ISEE’ are reserved exclusively for residents of Tuscany.

Are you under 26?

You must register for a discounted profile on the Autolinee Toscane portal.

The profile you should choose depends on your university ISEE and your place of residence:

•    student → if you do not have a university ISEE, or if your ISEE is higher than €36,151.98, or if you are not resident in Tuscany, regardless of your ISEE;

•    student ISEE → if you are resident in Tuscany and your university ISEE is €36,151.98 or less.

How to register:

• Pay the first instalment of your university fees and wait 10 days before registering your profile.
• Go to shop.at-bus.it
• Select the "ordinary" profile
• Once it has been approved (with receipt of emails from AT), proceed to request the subsidized profile: Student or Student ISEE based on your status
• Indicate in the "Institute" field: "UNIFI" or "University of Florence"

Are you already 26 years old?

In this case, you still need to register on the Autolinee Toscane portal, but with a different profile.

You can choose:

•    ordinary → if you do not have a university ISEE, or if your ISEE is higher than € 36,151.98, or if you are not resident in Tuscany, regardless of your ISEE;

•    ordinary ISEE → if you are resident in Tuscany and your university ISEE is € 36,151.98 or less.

Do you already have an Autolinee Toscane profile?

You don’t need to create a new profile every year.

Please note, however, that:

•    the ‘Student’ or ‘Student ISEE’ profile must be renewed annually;

•    the ‘ISEE’ profile normally expires on 31 December, unless extended by regional authorities;

•    the ‘Student ISEE’ or ‘Ordinary ISEE’ profile can only be applied for by residents of Tuscany;

•    the ‘Ordinary’ profile remains valid indefinitely.

Students enrolled on the Semestre Aperto programme for the 2026/2027 academic year may apply for a 50% refund of the cost of Local Public Transport.

• Immediate purchase: Unlike other students (for whom discounted pass sales start on September 21st, valid from October 1st), students enrolled in the Semestre Aperto can purchase the three-month AT public transport pass immediately.

• Types of ticket eligible: Refunds are available only for the purchase of a Abbonamento urbano capoluogo trimestrale di Autolinee Toscane (Urbano capoluogo quarterly pass).

Monthly or annual passes are not eligible for a refund.

• How to apply: Once you have completed your purchase, send the refund form to the email address mobilita.studenti(AT)unifi.it, ensuring you send the request exclusively from your institutional email address (edu.unifi.it).

Requests sent from private email addresses will not be considered.

• Refund payment: After verification, carried out in collaboration with Autolinee Toscane, 50% of the amount will be credited within 30 working days by bank transfer to the IBAN (in the name of or jointly held by the student making the request) indicated on the form.

The season ticket will be valid from 1 October 2026 until 31 July 2027.

The subscription can be purchased from 21 September until 31 November 2026.

Students/PhD students who have registered on Autolinee Toscane's shop.at-bus.it (AT) find the season ticket in the ‘Firenze Urbano’ category. Depending on their profile and the data transmitted by the University, one of the titles is presented:

• UNIFI and AFAM Convention 26/27 Basic (65 euros)
• UNIFI and AFAM Convention 26/27 Reduced (50 euros)

It is necessary to update one's residence, if changed, on the Student Career Management portal to facilitate data management between UNIFI and the Autolinee Toscane portal.

Controls

For on-board checks, students must present the codice fiscale card (tax code, health card or CIE).

I posti - disponibili in alcuni campus - vengono assegnati tramite graduatoria. Per partecipare è necessario presentare domanda secondo modalità e scadenze indicate nel bando annuale.
