Admission Document

If you hold a first cycle degree (bachelor or equivalent) obtained abroad and intend to enrol in an unrestricted  second cycle (master’s) degree programme at the University of Florence, you will need an Admission Document.

Submit your admission application through the Apply Unifi portal.

Possible outcomes:

  • admitted: you are admitted to the second cycle (master’s) degree programme.
  • single courses: the evaluation committee has determined that you need to make up academic deficiencies and requires you to pass specific exams at first cycle (bachelor’s) level.
  • rejected: you are not admitted to the second cycle (master’s) degree programme, and the committee’s decision is final.

Admission to the second cycle (master’s) degree programme, or the single course outcome, does not guarantee:

  1. any right to obtain an entry visa, as all formalities related to the study/enrolment visa fall exclusively under the responsibility of the Italian diplomatic authorities.
  2. no right to enrol in the second cycle (master’s) degree programme, as enrolment is subject to:
    - verification by the University of the validity and authenticity of the admission qualification through the Dichiarazione di valore in loco or the CIMEA certification verification and comparability services;
    - the inclusion of the second cycle (master’s) degree programme in the University’s academic offering for the relevant academic year.

If you are a non‑EU student residing abroad and you have received admission, you must register and submit your pre‑enrolment application and study‑visa on the Universitaly portal:

  • by 31 July if you have the Admission Document;
  • by 31 December if you have been admitted to single courses.
