Campuses and transportation

Thanks to the Trenitalia for Business program, university students can benefit from the Welfare PLUS offer, which grants a 10% discount on the purchase of tickets for private travel (up to 6 accompanying persons). The discount applies to Base, Economy, and Super Economy tickets on Frecce trains (Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca).

Requirements

To access the offer, you must:

• Be regularly enrolled at Unifi;
• Hold a Trenitalia CartaFRECCIA;
• Link your CartaFRECCIA to the University’s Trenitalia program

How to get the discount

• Obtain/link your CartaFRECCIA Access the UNIFI WELFARE 2025 program and follow the instructions to register or link your CartaFRECCIA. Those who have already completed the association will find the offer automatically active.
• Purchase the ticket with the Welfare PLUS discount Log in to the Trenitalia reserved area with your CartaFRECCIA credentials: the system will recognize the association and directly show the discounted price. Accompanying persons must travel together with the discount holder.

Based on an agreement (now expired and under review) with Bit Mobility – which is also a concessionaire of the Municipality of Florence – university students can rent electric scooters at a discounted price: the company offers two free daily unlocks and a 20% discount on the hourly rate for use within the Municipality of Florence. To take advantage of these benefits, you must access the web page using your institutional email address as your account and enter the agreement code UNIFIRENZEBIT.

Please note that there is a municipal regulation in force that requires the mandatory use of a helmet when riding scooters.

Based on the agreement (which has expired and is currently being revised) with Enjoy, university students can take advantage of discounted rates for car rental.

The discount is applied in all five cities where Enjoy is active (in addition to Florence, Milan, Rome, Turin and Bologna), with the limitation that the rental must begin and end in the urban area covered by the service of the same city. 

As far as Florence is concerned, the reference area also includes the Sesto Fiorentino campus: consult the map with the coverage area.

In addition to the FIAT 500 and Doblò, the Enjoy fleet also includes electric minicars. The car sharing service allows free access to limited traffic areas, free parking in paid areas and dedicated parking at airports and railway stations.

The use of the service is totally digital and is linked to the Enjoy app within which it is necessary to create a personal profile and upload one's documents including a driver's license.

Through the Enjoy app it is possible to book the vehicle, open and close the rental as well as make the relevant payment. The agreement stipulated by the University allows students and staff to use the service with preferential conditions.

Access to the agreement is automatic by subscribing to the service through the Unifi institutional email.

Especially:

• For those who are already registered with a personal email, it will be necessary to change the email and, at the same time as the change, you will immediately access the agreement;
• For those who register for the first time, it is necessary to use the Unifi email and access to the agreement will be automatic.

From June 2023, a new carpooling service has been active for all users of the Metropolitan City of Florence, provided by the company JOJOB, with the possibility of receiving the credit accumulated on each shared trip via cashback.
