Student card

The Tuscany Student Card (Carta dello studente della Toscana) is the university ID card issued to students of the University of Florence.

What it's for and how to get it

The card is personal and can be used to:

  • identify yourself within the University;
  • access the services of the University libraries;
  • take advantage of discounts and special offers for university students at museums, theaters, and affiliated businesses.

If you have just enroled or are a first-year Ph.D. student, you will receive the Student Card at the address specified during enrolment.

The card can only be printed and sent by mail if on the GCS portal:

  • you have uploaded a valid photo;
  • you have paid the first tuition fee installment.

The photo must:

  • be recent;
  • clearly show your face;
  • be front-facing and in focus;
  • have a plain, light background;
  • be in JPG or JPEG format.

If the photo is not valid, the card cannot be issued.
