The new Erasmus 2021-2027 programme foresees the implementation of a new digital system for the conclusion of the Erasmus+ Interinstitutional Agreements from 2021/2022, as a first step in a process of replacing paper documents with data transmission in all administrative practices under Erasmus (hence the name Erasmus Without Paper - EWP).
According to the "roadmap" of the program, the new Erasmus Agreements in digital version were already to be activated in 2021 but, due to the difficulties and delays caused by the pandemic, in June 2020 the European Commission announced, through the National Agencies, that the conclusion of the Agreements in digital format had to be postponed and that the validity of the Interinstitutional Agreements 2020/2021 was automatically extended to 2021/2022, the first year of the new Erasmus+ septennate.
The deadline set by the European Commission for the mandatory conclusion of the Agreements in digital format is currently 31 December 2022. From that date, the new Erasmus Without Paper infrastructure will be mandatory for Interinstitutional agreements and each Higher Education Institution will have to be able to exchange data through the EWP network, using its own IT tools.
The University of Florence is currently working in a test environment with the support of Cineca Esse3.
In order to facilitate the process of digital signature of the Agreements, it is important that UNIFI stakeholders agree in advance the conditions of cooperation with their contatcs at the partner Institutions even by simple e-mail exchanges (necessary data are: number of students, total number of months, type of mobility, subject area, study cycle, language/s of instruction and and required language levels) and that they transmit the results of the negotiations to the Erasmus Coodinators of the relevant UNIFI School by 31 July 2022.
The Partner Institutions can contact the International Mobility Office or directly the Erasmus Coordinators of the UNIFI Schools they are interested in and agree with them the 2023-2024 exchanges before 15 September 2022.
By the a.m. deadline the Erasmus coordinators will notify of the results of the negotiations carried out to the International Mobility office (see contact details below) which is in charge of the signature and EWP procedures for Erasmus Intrinstitutional Agreements:

Once the University of Florence has completed the transition from the test environment to the EWP production environment with its IT tools, the International Mobility Office will inform the Partner Institutions and wil start the exchange of Erasmus+ Interinstitutional Agreements in digital format.
