If you want to change your programme of study within the University of Florence, without giving up the course already taken, you must make a transfer, you can move from one programme of study to another, as long as it is active in the current academic year.
The application can be submitted via online services (according to the deadlines indicated in the calendar), after which it is subject to an additional administrative burden.

With the programme change application you will have the evaluation of the exams taken.
If you want to transfer to a degree programme with restricted access, you will have to follow the instructions and deadlines indicated in the call for applications, available on the national restricted access programme of study or local restricted access programme webpages.

If you want to continue studying at another university without giving up the course already taken, you must make an incoming or outgoing transfer.

With the transfer application you will have the evaluation of the exams already taken and any recognition in the new course of study.

If you want to transfer to a degree programme with restricted access, you will have to follow the instructions and deadlines indicated in the call for applications, available on the Unifi admissions portal.

The career abbreviation allows you to enrol by requesting recognition of exams taken in a previous career.

You can request the abbreviation for:

• Academic qualifications obtained at Italian universities
• Academic qualifications obtained at foreign universities
• Exams taken in a previous career that was terminated due to withdrawal or forfeiture

During the online enrolment procedure, you can select the “abbreviazione di carriera (career abbreviation)” option and attach the richiesta di valutazione degli esami (assessment of previously exams).

After enrolment, you will be informed f any recognition of activities in the new programme.

The application for enrolment with career abbreviation can be submitted according to the deadlines indicated in the calendar of deadlines. In addition to the enrolment fees, there is a fee for the assessment of exams (€ 30.00).

The procedures and terms for the career abbreviation procedure for admission to years after the first of programmes with restricted access are regulated by the relevant calls for applications.

The University of Florence, within its autonomy and legal system, without prejudice to bilateral agreements on the subject (see Manifesto), may recognize cycles and periods of study carried out abroad and foreign qualifications and academic qualifications for the continuation of university studies and/or the achievement of Italian university degrees.

The withdrawal (rinuncia) is useful for the student who wants to close career definitively.

The suspension (sospensione) serves to temporarily suspend the career in conjunction with another enrolment in specific study activities.

The interruption (interruzione) and reunification of the career is for those who do not renew their enrolment for two or more consecutive academic years, when they resume their studies, there is a reduced fee of €155 for each year. In the event of the birth of a child or serious reasons, this benefit also applies for a single year of interruption.
