This website aims to inform about the organisation, the institutional purposes, the services and, more generally, the current activities of the University of Florence (hereafter known as “University”).
The brand, the logo and all content of this site are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. If any of the content is used for commercial purposes, including copy and distribution of text or images, prior written consent must be obtained by the University. Copyright notes, authors where indicated, and sources must be cited in each and every case, whichever the form they are reproduced and distributed.
The Legal Representative of the University is responsible for the content of www.unifi.it; for subsidiary sites, such as those of the Schools, Departments, Study Programmes, etc., the responsibility belongs to the management in charge of the relevant unit.
Links to external sites and applications are provided as a support to users. Any liability towards completeness and accuracy of information given is excluded. The entity in charge as above indicated cannot be held responsible for any problems that may occur from the use of such sites and their related services. The person in charge of publication, unless otherwise indicated by law, cannot be held responsible in any way for damages of whatever nature caused, directly or indirectly, by the access to the aforementioned sites and services, or the impossibility to access them, or the reliability of information contained and its use.
The processing of personal data is performed in compliance with Legislative Decree 196/2003 “Code on the protection of personal data”.
The entity in charge of the treatment of personal data is the same as the entity responsible for the publication of the website, as above indicated.
SIAF (the University IT services unit) is in charge of the management and application of safety measures as per Privacy Laws of the web server hosting the University site and related data.
Users have the right to verify at any given time the existence of any personal data, their content, origin and accuracy. They may ask for their update, correction or cancellation, pursuant to art. 7 of Decree d.lgs. 196/2003.
As per above mentioned law, users may ask for cancellation, transformation in anonymous form or block of any data treated in an unlawful manner as well as oppose, for legitimate reasons, any use of the said data. Requests should be addressed to the University of Florence.

The Content Management System used to operate the University's websites, in its normal working mode acquires personal data the transmission of which is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols. Such data is not collected in order to be associated with users but only to be aggregated for statistical purposes.
This is the case of IP addresses or domain names employed by users connecting to the site, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses, time of request, number code indicating the status of the server's response and other parameters relating to the user's machine operating system.
Such data are used only in aggregated form for anonymous statistical purposes to check on the website usage and correct functioning.
