Inter-Institutional Agreements for Erasmus+ 2021-2027
The new Erasmus programme 2021-2027 had originally planned the implementation of a new digitalized system for Inter-institutional Agreements starting from 2021/2022. This was supposed to be the first step of a process aiming at replacing a paper-based workflow by a digital one in all administrative practices in Erasmus (hence the name Erasmus Without Paper EWP).
The new digitized Agreements were supposed to start in 2021/2022 but, due to the difficulties caused by the pandemic, in June 2020 the European Commission announced via the National Agencies that the renewal of agreements in digital format had to be postponed by one year (so it will be activated for mobilities in 2022/2023 funded under the 2022 Calls) and that the validity of 2020/2021 Inter-institutional Agreements was automatically extended to the first call of the new Erasmus programme (mobilities in 2021/2022 funded under 2021 Calls).
From 2022/2023 the new Erasmus Without Paper infrastructure for agreements will be mandatory and each Higher Education Institution will be connected with all partner Institutions via the EWP network using its own IT system. The University of Florence will be connected to the EWP network presumably next Fall 2021
Preparatory work to facilitate the digital signing
In order to prepare a smooth digital signing process of Inter-institutional Agreements, it is important to discuss the cooperation conditions beforehand via e-mail (number of students, total number of months, mobility type, subject area code, study cycle and language levels). For this preparatory phase it is important to get in touch and agree the future exchanges with the Erasmus coordinators
of the Schools of our Institution.
Since the EWP connection is not ready yet, we cannot sign any Agreement relevant to the new Programme 2021-2027 until further notice. Once the University of Florence has connected its own IT system for digitized agreements to EWP, this page will be updated with information about the online signing procedure via Erasmus Without Paper.
The European Commission extended the validity of the current KA 103 Inter-institutional agreements by one year. All current active Inter-institutional Agreements between UNIFI and its partners remain valid for student and staff mobilities to be organised under Erasmus+ KA103 projects, including those that will be selected under the 2021 Calls (i.e. for mobilities in 2021-2022).
