This course aims to achieve a deeper knowledge of modern Hebrew language both grammatically, with particular attention to irregular verbs (weak verbs), and with regard to expressive and comprehension abilities.

This course is suited for students with an advanced knowledge of the Hebrew language and aims to further the skills needed to:
- understand and analyze texts in modern Hebrew
- express personal opinions on analyzed texts and support them
- make connections between the texts analyzed during the lessons
- work out links between the analyzed texts and the traits of modern Hebrew culture and society
Basic knowledge of modern Hebrew, verbal system ( regular "strong" verbs) and the ability to address texts of level 1
Lectures, practical exercises, conversations, reading and translation of various types of texts in modern Hebrew (from poetry to newspaper articles)

Type of Assessment
Discussions and short exercises during the course. Final oral exam and, if requested, also a written text regarding only the linguistic part of the course.
Lettura in lingua ebraica moderna, traduzione dall'ebraico moderno all'italiano di testi progressivamente più complessi con attenzione anche alla traduzione di testi poetici; saranno approfonditi elementi di sintassi, il sistema verbale "delle radici deboli", il sistema dei suffissi pronominali e il periodo ipotetico.
