The course focuses on teaching and learning methods inspired by innovative pedagogies and the use of ICT to support the design of interactive lectures.
In addition, the course focuses on methods to encourage employability skills in secondary school (communication, critical and creative thinking, digital skills and teamworking).

Knowledge and understanding: to know the theoretical and methodological framework of the main interactive teaching and learning methods, especially inductive methods and methods inspired by innovative pedagogies; to know the key elements of the design of interactive lectures.
Applying knowledge: to appropriately choose and use the vocabulary related to inductive methods and methods inspired by innovative pedagogies; to identify methods and tools according to learning objectives and target.
Making judgements: to reflect of the responsibility related to the definition of teaching and learning methods and tools.
Communication skills: to communicate about teaching methods and methodological approaches and to present personal methodological choices.
Learning skills: to manage personal and professional development paths.
Being able to use the basic vocabulary about teaching and learning methods.
Being able to read in English.
The course will encourage an active approach to learning. Active learning gives the students the opportunity to become much more engaged in activities (simulations, in-class assignments...)
Presentations, papers, and videos will be available in the Moodle platform and part of the final examination.
Type of Assessment
The final evaluation is based on a final written exam (open questions and multiple choice).
Module 1) - Inductive methods and innovative pedagogies (16 hours). Inductive teaching and learning methods (problem- and project-based learning, inquiry-guided learning, case-based teaching), methods inspired by innovative pedagogies (embodied learning, experiential learning, gamification); the design of interactive lectures.
Module 2) - ICT to encourage interactive lectures (8 ore).
Module 3) - Teaching and learning methods to encourage employability skills in secondary school (communication, critical and creative thinking, digital skills and teamworking).
