Three Unifi researchers on the list of most cited scholars
Three researchers from Unifi have been included in Highly Cited Researchers 2023, the list of the world's most cited and influential scholars in their respective fields. They are Paolo Nannipieri, Professor Emeritus of Agricultural Chemistry, Gian Maria Rossolini, Professor of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine (DMSC), and Alessandro Maria Vannucchi, Professor of Blood Diseases at the DMSC. 

Specifically, Paolo Nannipieri has been selected for his research in the Agricultural Sciences field and has been listed among the Highly Cited Researchers since 2015; Gian Maria Rossolini has been cited for his research in the Interdisciplinary/Cross-Field area since 2019; Alessandro Maria Vannucchi has been listed among the Highly Cited Researchers since 2017 in the Clinical Medicine field and is also on the “Top Italian Scientist List”.

The awards confirm the quality of the researchers at the University: Highly Cited Researchers is the evaluation by the US agency Clarivate Analytics and annually identifies on the basis of bibliometric criteria the so-called “top 1%” of researchers who have contributed to high-impact publications in their respective scientific field over the past decade. Highly Cited Researchers ranks over 7,000 researchers worldwide in 21 disciplinary fields (specific or cross-field).
