Elements of Museology and Museography. History of collecting and museums. Preparation, preservation and restoration of natural objects: methods and experiences. The Nature Heritage cataloguing standards: structure of the data and regulation. Risk, hazard and Cultural Heritage.

Elements of Museology and Museography. Museology: the origins and purpose. History of collecting and museums. Activities and objectives of museums: preservation and enrichment of collections, cataloguing, teaching, educational activities and research. The contemporary museum. The exhibitions. The "science centers". Ecomuseums. The identity of the new museum. Museology and museum design: the need for synthesis. The spaces of the museum: space for the exhibition, for teaching, for storage. The display of collections: the criteria and itineraries. Museographical innovation in historicized contexts: the case study of the Section of Anthropology and Ethnology of the Museum of Natural History, University of Florence.
Museographical interventions, requalification of urban areas and cultural development: the case study of the Museum of Planetary Sciences of the Province of Prato. Preparation, preservation and restoration of natural objects: methods and experiences. The recovery and enhancement of fossil specimens: a case study of whale Orciano Pisano.
Cataloguing and inventory. The role of the Central Institute for Cataloguing and Documentation ICCD cataloguing policies. The Nature Heritage cataloguing standards: structure of the data and regulation. The botanical cataloguing standards: application to the herbaria of the Botany Section of the Museum of Natural History, University of Florence.

Risk, hazard and cultural heritage. Seismic risk: deterministic and probabilistic methods; earthquake catalogues; seismic site effects, numerical analysis and Nakamura method; dynamic analysis of buildings based on microtremor measurements.
Indoor conservation of naturalistic Heritage.
