Learning Objectives - Last names A-D
The course aims to provide students with the tools and methods for understanding and representing architecture and the environment.
Learning Objectives - Last names E-M
The students will acquire and/or enhance their own skills in the
representation of the architecture.
Prerequisites - Last names A-D
Interest in the matter.
Prerequisites - Last names E-M
No meaningful skills are required before starting the course. But the will to draw architecture is needed.
Teaching Methods - Last names A-D
Lectures are divided into teaching modules in which topics related to manual and instrumental graphic techniques and representation systems will be addressed. These modules will alternate exercises aimed at allowing the student to become familiar with the drawing tools and seminars dedicated to learning the main software for assisted drawing and processing raster images.
Teaching Methods - Last names E-M
Lectures, in class exercises, out of the class exercises, at home exercises.
Further information - Last names A-D
The lessons presented in the form of a Power Point will be available for download at the link indicated by the teacher at the beginning of the course.
Further information - Last names E-M
The lessons based on multimedia presentations will be available for
downloading in PPT and/or PDF format. The Links for downloading them will be sent in the course mailing list.
Type of Assessment - Last names A-D
The exam is individual and consists in the evaluation of:
- Graphics produced during the exercises scheduled during the course (on a notebook and A3)
- Graphics related to the final theme (on A2)
The graphics produced must demonstrate that students have acquired an adequate ability to read and synthesize the morphological, functional, material and typological characteristics of the architectures and environments investigated, and to know how to correctly represent them.

The examination: what is required
The student will bring the sketchbook to the examination; it will be
completed of every single drawing developed during the year, correctly
composed and in good overall conditions.
Together with the sketchbook a group of sheets on opaque paper are
required; this exercise is single for each student and will be described in
the next pages. It will be prepared on A2 size sheets, the weight and the
grain of the paper is a student’s choice. The details description of this
exercitation will be available after its presentation, in the second
semester.
During the first part of the examination the student will be asked to
produce a set of drawing in an ex-tempore exercitation, this will be done
on paper sheets brought by the student, but signed and stamped before
the exercitation start. The subject ot the exercitation will be assigned the
same day of the examination. This ex tempore will be subject to an
evaluation, if this one will be positive the students will have a colloquy
about their work during the course (the sketchbook and the A2
exercitations).
