The aim of the course is to give the theoretical basis of mechanics, in particular concerning statics, kinematics and dynamics of rigid bodies.
Vectorial calculus with applications to statics. Fundamental principles of rigid-body statics. Analytical and graphical methods. Kinematics of rigid bodies. System of particles: motion and conservation laws. Moments of inertia. Angular momentum and kinetic energy. Lagrangian formalism. Rigid-body dynamics. Euler’s equations of motion for a rigid body.
