Learning Objectives
Familiarity with the origins, the extraction, the types of oil and get to the end products through the various stages of treatment inside a refinery. Basic petrochemical hints.

General Chemistry, Basic Organic and Inorganic Chemistry.
Teaching Methods
The lessons are theoretical and include the use of siledes which will be provided to students by lesson.

Syntheses of NH3 and HNO3. Production of H2SO4. Production of Na2CO3 and NaOH Overview of the Importance and Use of Oil in Modern Society. Origins, extraction and transport. Classification of the various typologies. Refining and processing: desalination, topping, conversion (isomerization, alkylation, polymerization, cracking, reforming, coking, HDS, etc.). Basic petrochemical hints (products from ethylene, propylene, obtaining butenes, aromatics, etc.)
