The course adopts the perspective of global sociology through an approach based on the challenges to contemporary societies. It proposes an alternative approach to the traditionally accepted, national/global, and local/global opposition. The object of analysis are the great ongoing processes that cross borders and disseminate their effects, fuelling new challenges to contemporary societies in the economic, cultural and political-institutional spheres.
