Coordinator of the research doctorate course in Clinical Physiopathology of the University of Florence in years 1986-2003 (end of doctorate activity). Treasurer of the Italian Association of Anatomists in years 2000 to 2005 (end of duty). Fellow in the laboratories of Electron Microscopy and of Cell Biology at the Universities of Hannover, Munich and Bonn (Germany) for total 19 months in years 1980-1994; visiting scientist at the Schepens Eye Research Institute, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Ma., for three months in 1995
Research fields: cell physiology, proliferation and differentiation of epithelial cells of glands, mucosae and skin; differentiation and intercellular relationships of immune system cells in non-lymphoid organs, with special emphasis on dendritic cells.
